Heart Aerospace, a Los Angeles-based startup, developed the X1 as a demonstrator for its planned ES-30 hybrid-electric airliner. The X1 is the largest battery-electric fixed-wing aircraft to fly, with a wingspan of 106 feet and takeoff weight over 25,000 pounds.
