IKEA releases Skyrim mod
Archived — this story has rotated out of today’s deck. It is kept here in full.
The gist
IKEA released a free Skyrim mod adding a talking Kallax shelf companion, voiced by Matt Berry.
It turns the game's inventory clutter problem into an official, full questline crossover.
Background
IKEA, working with Kinggath Creations, made an official Creation for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim rather than a simple joke ad. The mod adds a sentient Kallax shelving unit that follows the player and carries unlimited items, plus a questline, two IKEA-themed dungeons, a Clutter Golem boss, and gear like an Allen Key weapon and Meatball Helmet. It is free through Bethesda's Creations system, and IKEA says its storage expertise fits a game where players hoard items.
