  1. Sep 12, 2026El Grito Chicago took over portions of Grant Park Saturday and Sunday, marking its return after last year's edition was cancelled. Downtown Phoenix hosted its fifth annual El Grito festival with music, food and dancing.

Sep 12, 2026Old Town San Diego State Historic Park held Fiestas Patrias from 11:00 AM to 4:00 p.m., featuring a community parade, traditional crafts, historic cooking demonstrations, a guacamole contest and a reenactment of "El Grito." The Old Globe in Balboa Park hosted its Mexican Independence Day Celebration with an official "El Grito" ceremony led by Consul General Kerber at 1:00 p.m.
  3. Sep 13, 2026El Grito Chicago continued Sunday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m.; general admission was $20, with free admission from 8 p.m. for those who signed up online for the El Grito Civic Ceremony.
