How it unfolded
- 1972The Supreme Court case Eisenstadt v. Baird granted unmarried women legal access to birth control, a right previously only given to married couples.
- 1972Title IX of the Education Amendments was passed, prohibiting discrimination based on sex in all aspects of educational programs or activities that receive federal support.
- 1974The Equal Credit Opportunity Act was passed, allowing women to get their own credit cards in their own name.
