The gist
Commanders receiver Luke McCaffrey faced older brother Christian for the first time as the 49ers won 23-17.
The brothers swapped jerseys, and a columnist floats a trade to San Francisco.
Background
Luke McCaffrey is a wide receiver and kick returner for the Washington Commanders, drafted in the third round (100th overall) in 2024 out of Rice. Christian McCaffrey, his older brother by five years, is the San Francisco 49ers' star running back. The Oct. 19 Monday Night Football game at Levi's Stadium was the first time the two had shared an NFL field, completing Christian's cycle of playing with or against all three of his brothers (Max, Dylan and Luke). Luke has yet to catch a pass in 2026, with all 29 of his snaps this season on special teams.
