76ers forward Jaylen Brown denies demanding a Celtics trade
The gist
76ers forward Jaylen Brown said he never demanded a trade from the Celtics, calling the claim false.
The dispute with a Celtics analyst hangs over his first season in Philadelphia.
How it unfolded
- Oct 26, 2026Celtics television analyst Brian Scalabrine claimed on his radio show that Brown had asked for a trade during the offseason and was "rooting to be traded to Milwaukee."
- Oct 26, 2026Ahead of the Celtics' game against the Bulls, Scalabrine walked back the claim, saying Brown didn't "technically demand to be traded" but reiterating he came with a list of demands.
- Oct 27, 2026A representative from Brown's team told ESPN the report was "10000% a lie" and denied he requested a trade out of Boston.
