Pluto TV adds Warner Bros. Discovery films and 14 live channels for November

Archived — this story has rotated out of today’s deck. It is kept here in full.

The gist

Free streaming service Pluto TV is adding Warner Bros. Discovery movies and 14 new live channels in November.
The additions follow Skydance's merger, which put the service under that content's owner.

Background

Pluto TV is a free, ad-supported streaming service with more than 400 free live TV channels, now part of Paramount Skydance. Skydance's billion-dollar merger with Warner Bros. Discovery gave it control of HBO Max, Discovery+ and Pluto TV, and the company is now distributing Warner Bros. Discovery content from within, which Pocket-lint's Anthony Orlando says makes it easier to roll out new free programming. Pluto TV had already carried some Warner Bros. Discovery titles through traditional licensing deals before the merger. The November slate also includes a horror lineup and holiday channels.
