OpenAI GPT-6 Astra cracks Enigma message
The gist
Carter Leffen says OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra broke the 1941 Enigma message MVUEH in about ten hours.
It had resisted all attempts since 2005, so the claim awaits confirmation.
How it unfolded
- Jul 10, 1941German Army Enigma message MVUEH is sent by a station with tactical callsign 2ny and received by the SS-Totenkopf Quartiermeister, Ib, at 17:30, logged as Nr. 172.
