Israel says it killed a Hamas militant tied to Shani Louk's abduction

The gist
Israel's military and Shin Bet said they killed Tamer Al-Zabaq in a Jabalia airstrike.
Four of five militants linked to Louk's abduction are now dead.
Background
Shani Louk was a 22-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist killed at the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re'im during the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on southern Israel, in which the UN says more than 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage. Footage of her motionless body being carried into Gaza in a pickup truck circulated widely; her family was told of her death in late October 2023 after a skull fragment was identified by DNA testing, and Israeli forces recovered her body from a tunnel in Jabalia in May 2024. The IDF and Shin Bet (Israel's military and domestic security agency) say Tamer Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zabaq, a Hamas military wing member, infiltrated Israel on October 7 and took part in her abduction. The strike drew attention both because of the Louk case and because it came during a ceasefire that Israeli officials say Al-Zabaq was violating.
