Pokémon store opening in London

Archived — this story has rotated out of today’s deck. It is kept here in full.

The gist

The Pokémon Company announced a permanent London store by 2029, its first outside Asia.
UK fans have only had temporary pop-ups, which the sources say were always packed.

Background

The Pokémon Company is the company behind the Pokémon brand; its international arm, The Pokémon Company International, announced the London shop. Until now all of the brand's permanent physical stores have been in Asia, mostly in Japan, and the UK has only seen limited-time pop-up stores — at ExCeL London during the Pokémon World Championships, at the Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush, and at the Natural History Museum earlier in 2026. The company says London is the first of several permanent stores planned outside Asia.
