The gist
Shrinking season 4 has wrapped filming, with Jessica Williams announcing the news on Instagram.
The original cast returns, but with a two-year time jump and a new story.
Background
Shrinking is an Apple TV comedy created and co-showrun by Bill Lawrence, with Jason Segel playing therapist Jimmy. It was originally pitched as a three-season story, and season 3 closed most of its plotlines — Jimmy dating Sofi, Paul (Harrison Ford) retiring and moving to Connecticut, Brian figuring out fatherhood and Alice heading to Wesleyan University. Season 4 is now billed as a completely new story with the same cast, which is why the wrap is being treated as the start of a new era for the show.
