- 2011The register of probate job was basically rendered meaningless when its duties were folded into the state's judiciary via the circuit courts.
- 2022A constitutional amendment to remove the register of probate was on the ballot and received approximately 63% of the vote, falling just short of the 66% needed to pass.
- Jul 2026House Bill 1300, requiring the school tax cap question to appear on 2026 and 2028 ballots, was signed into law.
