Once Upon a Farm snack recall
Archived — this story has rotated out of today’s deck. It is kept here in full.
The gist
Baby food company Once Upon a Farm recalled all Tractor Wheels toddler bars after three choking reports.
The FDA says the bars can form a sticky mass that standard choking aid may not clear.
Background
Once Upon a Farm is a Berkeley, California-based baby food company founded in 2015 that makes clean baby food and kids' snacks. It pulled its Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars — made from oat flour, dates and pumpkin seed butter — after customer reports of choking in children ages 1.5 to 2.5, and the FDA followed with a nationwide alert. The bars were sold online and in stores nationwide, including Costco, Target and Walmart.
