The gist
Author Jonathan Van Meter says Paris Hilton canceled his Kardashian biography interview 17 times in about four months.
A source close to Hilton blames an old assistant and her schedule.
Background
Paris Hilton is a former reality star, socialite, entrepreneur and DJ; Kim Kardashian, the billionaire beauty mogul and Skims founder who is the subject of the biography, once worked as Hilton's stylist and assistant. Jonathan Van Meter, author of 'Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future,' said he arranged the interview through Hilton's publicist after Kardashian checked and Hilton agreed. The story is drawing attention because it revives the pair's long history: they had a falling out, Kardashian excluded Hilton from her 2014 wedding to Kanye West, and they reconnected in 2016.
