The AP Top 25 is the weekly Associated Press college football poll, voted on by sportswriters. Georgia, previously No. 2 and now 6-0, moved up after a 20-17 win at Alabama, while Texas (4-1) lost its top spot following a 27-24 defeat to Oklahoma. Week 6 saw six ranked teams lose, four of them to unranked opponents, and three top-10 SEC (Southeastern Conference) teams — No. 1 Texas, No. 6 Alabama and No. 10 LSU — lost on the same Saturday for only the third time.
