How it unfolded

  1. Nov 2018German newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked financial documents from Manchester City, after which the investigation began.
  2. Feb 2020City were found guilty of breaking UEFA's financial fair-play rules and given a €30m fine and a two-year European ban.
  3. Jul 2020After the case was taken to CAS, the ban was lifted and the fine was reduced to €10m; CAS found the alleged FFP breaches either not established or time-barred, and City were found guilty of not cooperating with UEFA.
